As a follow-up to my blog last month on My Favorite Cleansing Skincare Products, I want to share with you the rest of my daily skincare routine. As Erno Laszlo said: “Beautiful skin requires commitment, not a miracle.” Since my teens, I’ve invested a tremendous amount of time and effort researching formulations behind different brands, testing out various products, and gathering all my favorites from all the investments I’ve made to achieve beautiful, healthy, and glowing skin. If there is anything I’ve learned in all my research and experiences, there is no instant miracle cure.
Thank you to my Mom who set such a great example growing up by constantly showing me that self care is a divine responsibility. I’m excited to share with you all my favorite beauty products thus far, and feel confident in my recommendations to help you achieve the natural beauty you deserve and crave!
My go-to face toners:
Pros: Key ingredients include colloidal oatmeal, wild oats, propolis extract, honey, and hyaluronic acid. This toner feels amazing on my skin morning and night. It’s gentle and soothing with a milky appearance.
Cons: Honestly I don’t have any. Can’t beat the price point! Plus we have such an oat milk trend right now, so this product will be trending for awhile.
Pros: A beautifully fragranced toner that leaves my skin feeling fresh and soft. It’s part of my daily routine and I have used it for years. Suitable for combination skin. The floral toner absorbs very quickly and it doesn’t leave a sticky feeling afterwards. Skin feels refreshed and comfortable.
Cons: Absolutely none. As I said before, it’s part of my daily routine for years now.
Pros: If you’re looking to try La Mer, I would start with this product. The benefits are instantaneous. I use this after my toner and before my serums and creams. This treatment lotion is definitely one of my daily stables, and I use it twice daily and have already repurchased a few times! Seriously my favorite!!
Cons: There are simply none besides maybe the price. But if you’re like me, you’ll fall in love with it after one application. It’s one of those products I cannot go without! I swear by it!
Pros: Use a little on a cotton pad to relax your skin after cleansing. The formula is hydrating, leaving my skin soft and plum.
Cons: A bit on the pricey side, so I’d recommend using a more basic toner like the First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Wild Oat Hydrating Toner one for starters, then upgrading to something like this one. This allows your skin to build the right foundation before jumping to a product your skin might not be ready to absorb.
My go-to face serums:
Pros: A glow booster to help restore radiance, leaving your skin supple and glowing. I find myself reaching for this serum during the day versus evening time.
Cons: Definitely an indulge purchase.
Pros: A great serum to whiten and brighten my skin. I find that I like using this mostly in the summer and fall months. Excellent product to add to your La Mer lineup.
Cons: I would recommend pairing this serum with only La Mer moisturizers if you plan to invest in this product.
Pros: My skin feels dewy and hydrated after using this serum. It’s best as a daytime serum. All you have to do is pat the product on the face in the morning then follow with sunscreen.
Cons: Probably not the best product for evening use.
Pros: A game changer when it comes to soothing irritated skin and restoring skin tone. I use this primarily at night time as more of a “healer”. My skin is pretty clear, but when I get occasional acne or redness, this product diminishes it really quickly. This is my absolute favorite La Mer product! You need to use this product consistently in order to see the results. Over the past couple years, I’ve noticed some major benefits using this product such as hydrated and supple skin, more even skin tone, and less imperfections on my skin.
Cons: The packaging can be improved. Once you reach the end of the bottle, you cannot reach the bottom with the applicator. However, if you ask a La Mer counter at any of your local Nordstrom or Neiman Marcus, they may give you an extended stick to get all the product out of the bottle, but this is not guaranteed. It’s just worked for me in the past :).
Pros: Hydrating and light on the skin. I love using this serum in the morning, especially during the winter months since it locks moisture really well. I have repurchased a few times already. It has a refreshing scent. This is a great product for men!! I would highly recommend this serum if you’re looking for a quality skin product to address any imperfections or refine pores.
Cons: The pump can be improved, but luckily, you can open the bottle if it fidgets a little.
Pros: Light, easy to apply, and firming. I alternate this serum with all the others I have. Overall, a good buy. Love the instant tightening effect when the product touches the skin.
Cons: Not a big fan of the large dropper for the full size of this product.
Pros: A 2-in-1 hydrating exfoliant for a smooth, radiant complexion. I like using this serum in my night time routine, but I use it maybe once or twice a week when I feel my skin getting dry.
Cons: Not a product I use everyday as my skin type is more combination/dry, so it’s not my must-have. However, if you have sensitive skin, this might be a product you should look into.
My go-to face lotions:
Pros: Rich and luxurious! My skin feels youthful, clear, smooth, and moisturized. My favorite face cream, sticking with it forever. Highly recommend!! Perfect for dry skin.
Cons: Absolutely no complaints, except for maybe a steep price, but it’s totally worth every penny!
Pros: Texture is light and smooth. Probably one of the better moisturizers out there, leaving my skin hydrated, plump, and health-looking. It doesn’t leave behind an oily residue, and the price point is decent.
Cons: I wouldn’t recommend this as an all day all year moisturizer. Because I’m in love with my La Mer moisturizer, this one is a great one for travel since the container is perfect for that function.
Pros: Reminds me of a cool gel cream. I like using this for summer time. This gel moisturizer leaves your skin looking refreshed and dewy. Price is very good, and it absorbs into the skin pretty quickly.
Cons: I would probably use this only when it’s spring / summer or on warmer days.
Pros: I use this really as a UV moisturizer (combine sunscreen and moisturizer) on my lazy days. The smell is divine, and I use it in the daytime. In my opinion, the texture is perfect: not too light or too heavy. Honestly the name fits the product well.
Cons: The price tag is a bit scary, but the product does last for a year if you use sparingly. I think it’s a good investment, especially if you’re on the fence about using sunscreen.
Pros: This is an interesting La Mer product that does not get as much recognition as the others, but it’s definitely one of my favorites. You can use this as either a primer before applying makeup in the morning, or on top of you moisturizer (as last step of your skin care regimen) at night. Overall, I love it because it has helped me with skin imperfections and smoothness.
Cons: If you don’t know how to use this, then you won’t see the benefits.
If you made it this far, thanks for reading my reviews on all these beauty products. I hope it provided insight into the world of luxury beauty. Healthy skin is a reflection of overall wellness. It’s essential to start as early as possible and nourish your skin!
